The Great River Region
of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

The Great River Region is a ministry seeking to build up the Body of Christ and strengthen the ministries of Disciples of Christ congregations in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Three deployed regional pastors provide primary care to clergy and congregations across the region. The Regional Office is located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

One of 33 regions in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States of America, the GRR is the newest region, the result of the Christian Church in Arkansas, the Christian Church in Mississippi and the Christian Church in Louisiana deciding to create something new - together - in 2002. By combining efforts, administrative/operating expenses have been reduced by over $150,000 per year and three deployed Regional Pastors provide direct care to clergy and congregations without having to worry about administration, committees, or meetings out of the region.
In addition to reducing administrative cost, the creation of the Great River Region added 12 weeks a year to time staff are available and in the region. Our Executive Regional Minister carries the responsibility for oversight and administration as well as participation in the church at large.
